SGI CANADA Coverage Choices in Ontario

  • SGI CANADA Auto Pak in Saskatchewan adds to compulsory plate insurance. It offers collision/upset and comprehensive protection with deductible choices, higher liability limits, non-owned-auto protection, loss-of-use/rental costs, replacement-or-repair cost for qualifying newer vehicles and road-hazard glass.
  • Claims-free protection is an optional coverage that preserves the claims-free discount after a first claim; SGI says it is available or updated in Ontario as well as Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
  • For Saskatchewan rideshare work, the personal Auto Pak does not respond while the driver is engaged in ridesharing; the rideshare company’s policy responds. No SGI-specific EV discount was confirmed publicly.

SGI CANADA Discounts to Confirm in Ontario

  • Publicly confirmed savings include SGI CANADA policy discounts shown during broker quoting and optional claims-free protection. Exact discount eligibility and amounts vary by product and province and should be confirmed with the broker.
  • Saskatchewan’s basic plate premium also reflects the driver’s Safe Driver Recognition rating; this is part of the public Auto Fund system rather than a standard Ontario discount.

About SGI Car Insurance

SGI is Saskatchewan’s Crown-owned insurer. Its competitive property-and-casualty business, SGI CANADA, sells through independent brokers in Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba, and through SGI CANADA and Coachman Insurance Company in Ontario.

SGI CANADA prices policies using the coverage selected and applicable underwriting factors. Rates should be compared for the individual driver and province; current official sources do not support a general claim that SGI is cheaper because it primarily insures rural customers.
