Esurance Availability for Canadian Drivers
| Available in Canada? | No current Canadian personal-auto offering was verified. The live Esurance material is U.S.-focused and uses ZIP codes/states; Esurance is an Allstate company. |
| Available in Ontario? | No. |
| Direct, broker or affinity distribution | Direct online/phone distribution for the U.S. legacy business. |
| Underwriting company | Policies are written by Esurance Insurance Company and affiliated U.S. underwriting companies; the exact legal insurer is shown on the policy. Esurance is owned by Allstate. |
| How to get a quote | No Canadian or Ontario quote. The U.S. site still displays a ZIP-code quote flow, but Allstate has described Esurance as a brand it chose to sunset/integrate into Allstate; the article should not present Esurance as an active Canadian option. |
| How to report a claim | For an existing U.S. Esurance policy, file online/in Esurance Mobile or call 1-800-378-7262 24/7. |
| Digital account or app | Existing policyholders can use the Esurance login and Esurance Mobile for ID cards, billing, policy servicing, roadside assistance and claims. |
Esurance Coverage for U.S. Policyholders
- Esurance’s current public material is for U.S. customers, not Canada. Do not translate its U.S. collision, comprehensive, rental, roadside, ShareSmart rideshare or other features into an Ontario product description.
- For existing U.S. policyholders, the claims pages confirm rental assistance applies only when rental coverage is on the policy and roadside help requires towing-and-labour coverage.
- Because the brand has been sunset/integrated into Allstate, any coverage discussion must be framed as legacy U.S. policy servicing and controlled by the declarations and policy wording.
Esurance Discounts Apply to U.S. Policies
- No Canadian or Ontario discounts are available.
- Existing U.S. policyholders should use their account or contact Esurance to confirm any policy-specific discounts.

About Esurance Car Insurance
Esurance Insurance Services, Inc. launched direct-to-consumer insurance in the United States in 1999, and Allstate acquired Esurance in 2011. Esurance expanded Canadian auto insurance into Alberta in 2015 and Ontario in 2017, but stopped offering new Canadian policies in July 2018 and transferred renewal rights to Ivantage, another Allstate Canada company.
Allstate later impaired the Esurance trade name in 2019 and combined Esurance results into the Allstate brand in the third quarter of 2020. Esurance should therefore be described as a legacy brand, not a current Canadian insurer from which readers can buy a new policy.

What Other Insurance Products Does Esurance Offer?
Esurance historically sold renters, homeowners and motorcycle insurance in parts of the United States. The stated US$14 renters average and detailed U.S. coverages are not current Canadian offerings or products a Canadian reader can now buy from Esurance. Canadian shoppers should compare active licensed insurers for current property or motorcycle options.ion and assist with various steps of the claims procedure, such as securing a rental car.
