How Were the 2026 City Rates Calculated?

Based on our analysis of 50,000 real quotes collected through the MyChoice platform since the beginning of 2026, the comparison uses a standard Ontario profile: age 35 to 44, a clean record, at least five years licensed, at least three years of continuous insurance, standard liability, $1,000 deductibles and a vehicle valued at no more than $60,000.

How Should You Use These Numbers?

Use the table as a location benchmark, not a price promise. When comparing quotes, keep every other input the same: drivers, vehicle, annual kilometres, use, liability limit, deductibles, physical-damage coverage and endorsements. That shows whether the address or another change is driving the difference.

If your quote is higher than the city figure, check for differences in driving history, vehicle, coverage, commute and insurer before assuming it is an error. If two platforms publish different averages, compare the profile, date and method first. Different datasets are not directly interchangeable.
